Argentina's top judge urges screening to block discriminatory judges
On the 32nd anniversary of the 1994 AMIA bombing, Supreme Court President Horacio Rosatti highlighted the need to detect racist, homophobic or otherwise discriminatory personalities among judicial candidates. He proposed a thorough psychological and psychotechnical exam for future judges, arguing that preventing such attitudes is essential for a tolerant democracy.
Rosatti made these remarks during a panel organized by the Latin American Jewish Congress, alongside judges from Uruguay and Paraguay. The event also served as a remembrance of the attack that killed 85 people and injured more than 300.
In San Juan, the municipal government reiterated its commitment to the memory, truth and justice of the AMIA tragedy, honoring victims such as local resident Jorge Antúnez and reaffirming the city's dedication to democratic values and anti‑discrimination efforts.
