Argentina's USAT 1 and Paraguay's GuaraníSat-2 ready for US launch

The USAT 1 microsatellite, the first Argentine 3U satellite built entirely by engineers and students at the Universidad Nacional de La Plata, has arrived in Spain and is awaiting transfer to the United States for a SpaceX launch scheduled for October. The 10 × 10 × 34 cm, 3‑kg satellite will demonstrate GNSS‑based Earth observation and supports the larger ATENEA microsatellite selected by NASA for the Artemis II mission.

Paraguay’s GuaraníSat‑2, the country’s second satellite and the first built wholly domestically, is prepared for shipment to the United States where it will be integrated onto a launch vehicle. Developed by the Agencia Espacial del Paraguay with students from several Paraguayan universities and partners including NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory, the Mexican space agency, an Italian firm and Japan’s Kyushu Institute of Technology, the satellite will conduct scientific studies such as measuring the Earth’s magnetic field anomaly and provide amateur radio data services.
