Argentina's Vista Energy and Newsan Report Significant Sustainability Milestones

Vista Energy presented its 2025 Sustainability Report, highlighting a record low greenhouse‑gas intensity of 6.8 kg CO₂e per barrel of oil, a target originally set for 2026 and achieved a year early. The company confirmed its plan to exceed 250,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day by 2030 and noted that exports accounted for 61% of its $1.391 billion revenue, with a goal to raise that share to 80% by 2028. Additional initiatives include 13 nature‑based carbon‑offset projects covering 43,000 ha, an expanded trading unit (VEISA), and a corporate venture fund backing climate‑tech startups. Vista also reported a six‑year stretch with a Total Recordable Incident Rate (TRIR) of 0.8.

Newsan’s 2025 Sustainability Report showed a 99% recycling rate for production waste at its Ushuaia facilities, processing over 500 tons of cardboard to replace styrofoam packaging and extending zero‑waste practices to its Villa Mercedes plant. The report, prepared under GRI and SASB standards, was highlighted by Marcela Cominelli, head of Legal, Public Affairs and Sustainability, who said, “presentar nuestro Reporte de Sustentabilidad por 11 años consecutivos representa mucho más que compartir indicadores: es mostrar cómo seguimos integrando la sustentabilidad en la estrategia del negocio y en la toma de decisiones.”
