Argentina's winter fairs draw hundreds of entrepreneurs and boost local economies

The third Winter Vacation Expo in Necochea concluded on July 25, featuring about 60 local entrepreneurs. Visitors could receive a 40% discount on purchases made with the virtual wallet Cuenta DNI, thanks to a partnership with Banco Provincia. The event offered free admission, rotating stalls, prize draws and free‑ticket theatre performances at the city’s Cultural Center.

In Paraná, the Winter Fair was extended through Sunday, July 26, and attracted more than 250 entrepreneurs, artisans and food vendors. Municipal officials highlighted a positive economic balance, noting that the fair generated over 430 million Argentine pesos in direct sales last year and has a strong multiplier effect on local employment and supply chains. The fair is considered one of the most important itinerant events in the national fair calendar and part of a public‑private initiative to promote tourism during the winter holidays.
