Argentine actor Enrique Otranto dies at 78

Enrique Hugo Abel Otranto, a veteran of Argentine theatre, cinema and television, died on 31 July 2026 at the age of 78. The Argentine Actors Association confirmed his death, noting his long‑standing affiliation with the union since 1974 and expressing condolences to his family and friends.

Otranto’s career spanned more than five decades. He performed in numerous stage productions, including the politically significant Teatro Abierto 1983 cycle with the play “Hoy se comen al flaco.” In film he appeared in acclaimed titles such as “Historias mínimas,” “Tiempo de revancha,” “Los chicos de la guerra,” and others. His television work included series like “Hombres de ley,” “Nano,” and “La Casa Nostra.”
