Argentine Army advances TAM 2C-A2 tank squadron integration

The Argentine Army is advancing the integration of the TAM 2C-A2 tank squadron, a process involving both vehicle modernization and crew training. Personnel have recently completed a certification phase at the 8th Tank Cavalry Regiment to prepare for operating the updated systems.

In support of these efforts, the state-owned company Fabricaciones Militares has delivered a batch of 105 mm ammunition for the Army’s tanks, including the TAM and the SK-105 Kurassier anti-tank vehicles. This production is part of a broader initiative by the Ministry of Defense to recover domestic manufacturing capabilities for various projectile models.

The modernization and maintenance work is being carried out by the General Directorate of Research and Development and the 602nd Arsenal Battalion, with technical integration occurring at the Boulogne Military Barracks. Following the delivery of the first squadron in December 2024, the second squadron is being prepared for deployment to the Magdalena Army Garrison.
