Argentine athletes Olivia Conesa and Betsabé Páez achieve major milestones
Argentine athletes Olivia Conesa and Betsabé Páez have achieved significant milestones in track and field.
Sixteen-year-old Olivia Conesa established a new Argentine U18 national record in the 100-meter dash with a time of 11.69 seconds. Conesa also secured two silver medals at the South American Youth Games in Panama, competing in both the 100-meter and 200-meter events. Additionally, she represented Argentina at the U20 World Championships in Oregon, United States, where she placed seventh in both the 100m and 200m series.
Betsabé Páez, a physical education professor at the Universidad Nacional de Rosario, won the high jump title at the 106th National Athletics Championship. Following a recovery from a life-threatening infection, Páez set a personal best and has qualified to represent Argentina at the 2026 South American Games.
