Argentine authorities coordinate water basin monitoring and management
Local and regional authorities in Argentina are intensifying efforts to monitor and manage water basins to ensure environmental protection and sustainable resource use.
In Trenque Lauquen, Mayor Francisco Recoulat led a meeting with municipal officials, representatives from the productive sector, and institutions such as the Sociedad Rural and INTA. The group analyzed the current water situation, climate perspectives for upcoming months, and coordinated preventive actions for the local and regional basin.
In the Salí-Dulce basin, the Secretary of Environment and the Ombudsman of Santiago del Estero met to discuss environmental monitoring during the sugar cane harvest period. This collaboration between Tucumán and Santiago del Estero, operating under the Interjurisdictional Committee of the Salí-Dulce Basin, aims to prevent impacts on water resources flowing into the Río Hondo reservoir through systematic surface water monitoring.
