Argentine authorities investigate video of child driving motorcycle

Authorities in Argentina are working to identify a woman after a video surfaced showing a young child operating a motorcycle in the town of Berisso. The footage, which was shared on social media using the hashtag #viralreels, depicts the child driving through a residential area while the mother, riding as a passenger, filmed the incident from various angles using a mobile phone.

The video shows both the child and the adult riding without helmets. Following the public outcry generated by the recording, the National Road Safety Agency (Agencia Nacional de Seguridad Vial) announced it is intervening to identify the responsible parties and apply appropriate legal sanctions.

Under current Argentine traffic regulations, the minimum age to operate a moped is 16, and 17 for other categories, provided proper authorization is obtained. Additionally, the use of a regulatory helmet is mandatory for all motorcycle occupants.
