Dutch nationals arrested in Colombia for cocaine trafficking
Colombian authorities, in coordination with the National Police and the Prosecutor General's Office, arrested two Dutch citizens, Ronny Haleber and Ulrich Van Dinter, in Medellín and Cali. The arrests were carried out in response to Interpol red notices regarding their alleged involvement in a transnational cocaine trafficking network.
Investigators claim the suspects acted as links between Colombian and European criminal organizations. Haleber is accused of transporting cocaine from Cali to the port of Buenaventura to be shipped to the Netherlands and Belgium via Curacao. Van Dinter is alleged to have facilitated trafficking by contaminating legal goods at Colombian airports and ports for shipment to Europe.
The Dirección de Asuntos Internacionales of the Prosecutor's Office will manage the formal extradition requests.
