Argentine authorities seize copper and weapons in Patagonia raids

Security forces conducted eight simultaneous raids in the Argentine provinces of Santa Cruz and Chubut as part of a judicial investigation into concealment. The operations, overseen by Security Minister Pedro Prodromos and State Secretary Bruno Gómez, targeted locations in Caleta Olivia and Comodoro Rivadavia.

In Caleta Olivia, five raids resulted in the seizure of mobile phones, four notebooks containing informal accounting notes, a chainsaw, and a .22 caliber carbine with thirteen cartridges.

In Comodoro Rivadavia, three procedures were carried out, including two at commercial establishments used for the purchase and storage of metals. Authorities seized more than one ton of high-tension copper scraps, industrial scales, cutting tools, and various documents. The investigation is being handled by the Instruction and Juvenile Criminal Court No. 1 of Pico Truncado.
