Argentine basketball clubs reinforce rosters for 2026‑27 season

Gimnasia y Esgrima de Comodoro Rivadavia announced the signing of Senegalese center Amar Sylla. The 26‑year‑old, who trained with Real Madrid’s youth system and has played in Spain’s ACB, Lithuania’s top league and most recently Bilbao Basket, joins the team to add size and experience ahead of the 2026‑27 Liga Nacional campaign and participation in the Basketball Champions League Americas.

Tomás de Rocamora confirmed the continuation of perimeter player Valentino Occhi and guards Tomás Losada and Pascual Santini for the same season. Occhi, 21, posted averages of 9.2 points and 5.2 rebounds on 76 % free‑throw shooting and 40 % from three‑point range. Losada contributed 6 points, 2.9 rebounds and 2.2 assists per game, while the 18‑year‑old Santini recorded 4.4 points, 1.4 rebounds and 1.6 assists, having also been selected for a national U‑18 camp. All will play under coach Sebastián Amato.
