Argentine beef recalled in US over inspection error

The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) has issued a recall for approximately 30,000 pounds of Argentine beef distributed in Florida and Texas. The recall was triggered after the Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) discovered that the products had entered the country without undergoing the mandatory federal reinspection process.

The affected products, produced by Frigorífico Gorina SAIC and imported by Florida-based Corte Argentino LLC, include various boneless cuts such as top sirloin, eye round, topside, flat, and knuckle. The meat was produced in May 2026 and carries use-by dates through September 20, 2026.

Argentine Foreign Minister Pablo Quirno clarified that the recall is due to an administrative error by the importer rather than issues with food safety, contamination, or product quality. The importer has reportedly issued a document assuming responsibility for the oversight. Officials emphasized that the Argentine sanitary system remains intact and that beef exports to the United States continue to operate normally.
