Jujuy inaugurates Northwest Argentina’s first municipal social hockey stadium

The first municipal social hockey stadium in Northwest Argentina, named ‘Reconquista de Jujuy’, has been inaugurated in the Alberdi neighborhood of San Salvador de Jujuy. The facility features a state-of-the-art synthetic grass pitch and is part of a broader effort to revitalize Parque Alberdi.

Governor Carlos Sadir and Mayor Raúl Jorge attended the opening ceremony, highlighting the project as a response to long-standing demands from local players and clubs. The stadium is intended to strengthen sports infrastructure and community integration in the region. Mayor Jorge also announced plans to begin working on the creation of a Municipal Hockey Club.

Valentina Raposo, a member of the Argentine national hockey team, has been named the stadium’s godmother. The name of the venue honors a significant historical event in the province’s independence process.
