Argentine Boxing Legend Alejandra Oliveras Remembered on First Death Anniversary

Alejandra “Locomotora” Oliveras, a six‑time world champion who rose from a harsh childhood in Jujuy and Córdoba to become Argentina’s most celebrated female boxer, died on 28 July 2025 at age 47. She suffered an ischemic stroke that caused a massive pulmonary embolism and refractory cardiorespiratory arrest while hospitalized at the José María Cullen Hospital in Santa Fe.

On the one‑year anniversary of her passing, her sons Alejandro and Alexis Oliveras posted a heartfelt letter and a video tribute on social media.
