Argentine Supreme Court rejects legal challenges against Sturzenegger and Caputo

The Argentine Supreme Court has issued several significant rulings involving high-profile political and financial figures. The Court rejected a request by former President Cristina Kirchner to reopen an investigation into Federico Sturzenegger regarding the management of 'dólar futuro' contracts during the beginning of Mauricio Macri's administration. The justices cited article 280 of the Procedural Code to dismiss the appeal as inadmissible.

In a separate matter, the Federal Criminal and Correctional Court No. 8 rejected the request for deputies Mónica Frade and Maximiliano Ferraro of the Coalición Cívica to act as complainants in the $LIBRA cryptocurrency scandal case. The court ruled that their parliamentary oversight functions do not meet the requirement of personal harm necessary for legal standing.

Additionally, the Federal Chamber confirmed the dismissal of a case against Luis Caputo regarding an offshore account and his role as an indirect owner of the company Noctua during the Macri administration. The judges determined there was no evidence of criminal intent to the detriment of the public administration.
