Argentine court upholds 18-year sentence for Claudio Contardi
The Argentine Court of Cassation has upheld the prison sentence of Claudio Contardi, confirming an 18.5-year sentence for sexual abuse. The ruling follows an attempt by the defense to appeal the original decision.
Julieta Prandi, the victim and former spouse of Contardi, expressed a sense of peace following the court's rejection of the defense's motion. Prandi noted that while legal strategies may allow for further appeals, she believes it is highly unlikely that the sentence will be overturned after the Cassation court's confirmation.
