Argentine Courts Bar Father from Sports and Music Over Unpaid Child Support

In Río Negro province, a father who repeatedly failed to pay child support was ordered by the family court in El Bolsón to be disaffiliated from his football club and barred from training or any club activities until the debt is settled. The judge also requested municipal governments to suspend his driver’s licence and asked virtual‑wallet providers to freeze any funds.

In Entre Ríos, a musician from Paraná faced a similar sanction. Judge María Victoria G. Andrián of the Juzgado de Familia N° 4 ordered that he may not perform with his rock band in local venues until he pays the $740,000 owed in alimony. The ruling also imposed bank account and virtual‑wallet seizures, licence suspension and registration in the national debtor registry.
