Argentine Deputy Nicolás Trotta criticizes economic policy

Argentine National Deputy Nicolás Trotta of the Unión por la Patria (UxP) party has criticized the economic management of the Milei administration, specifically targeting Economy Minister Luis Caputo. Trotta argued that the country cannot be managed solely through spreadsheets and accused Caputo of being disconnected from the local reality.

Trotta highlighted a growing crisis regarding household debt, noting that most current credits are being used for basic subsistence rather than durable goods. He warned of the risks posed by digital lending platforms that lack credit analysis and advocated for legislative measures such as interest rate reductions and grace periods to assist debtors.

Additionally, the deputy pointed to the destruction of over 31,000 small and medium-sized enterprises (PyMEs) under the current government. Regarding future political strategy, Trotta emphasized the importance of holding open primaries (PASO) in August 2027 to ensure transparency in selecting opposition candidates.
