Argentine Federal Chamber links Nadia Beller statements to $LIBRA investigation
The Argentine Federal Chamber has ruled that the court investigating the $LIBRA cryptocurrency case must evaluate public statements made by Nadia Beller, the former partner of Fernando Cerimedo. This decision follows a request by National Deputy Mónica Frade to summon Beller as a witness after she made allegations regarding potential corruption involving the sister of President Javier Milei.
While prosecutors and judges initially argued that Beller's comments were unrelated to the $LIBRA investigation and should be handled by a different court, the Federal Chamber determined that the $LIBRA case court should assess her statements to decide if a witness summons is appropriate. The investigation into the $LIBRA token, which was promoted by Javier Milei on social media, is being led by federal prosecutor Eduardo Taiano.
Separately, five investors who were previously removed as plaintiffs in the case are appealing to the Federal Chamber of Criminal Cassation to regain their status as complainants in the ongoing investigation into the alleged cryptocurrency fraud.
