Argentine figures receive honors in sports and student festivities

Pilar Mateo, a midfielder for Unión, has been nominated for the Outstanding Player of the 2025 season at the Alumni Awards. Mateo gained prominence for scoring the decisive goal against Lanús that secured Unión’s promotion to the First Division. She joins nominees Abril Castro of San Miguel and Brenda Varela of Lanús for the distinction.

In Santiago del Estero, Constanza Lastra Errasti has been named the National Representative of the Students 2026. The selection took place during the 75th edition of the National Festival of Students in Jujuy, where representatives from 23 provinces and the City of Buenos Aires competed. Errasti, who originally represented Las Termas de Río Hondo, received the title at the 23 de Agosto Stadium.
