Argentine film festivals announce upcoming editions and calls for entries

Two distinct audiovisual initiatives have been announced in Argentina to promote local and international filmmaking.

In Tucumán, the fourth edition of PLUM!, an international animation film festival, is being organized by the Cooperativa de Trabajo Ruta del Tejido Ltda. in collaboration with Tincazo Cine. Located in Tafí del Valle, the festival aims to decentralize cultural industries from the Pampean region by providing students and creators in the Northwest with access to international project laboratories and free workshops covering scriptwriting, movement techniques, and digital tools.

In Castelar, Buenos Aires province, the Castelar Film Festival has opened its call for entries. The festival, scheduled for November 21 at the Biblioteca Popular 9 de Julio, is seeking Argentine short films ranging from one to 15 minutes in length. Submissions are open to various genres, including fiction, documentary, and animation, with a deadline for entries set for November 11.
