Argentine film festivals Escenario and VECINE announce upcoming editions

Argentina is hosting two significant film festivals that highlight national cinema and community engagement.

The seventh edition of Festival Escenario focuses on the intersection of music and film. The program includes short films, feature-length documentaries, and works in progress. A notable highlight is the tribute to artist Indio Solari, with the film ‘Tsunami’ serving as the closing feature. The festival incorporates live musical performances within projection halls at various venues, including Cine Gaumont and Centro Cultural Borges.

Simultaneously, the seventh edition of the VECINE Film Festival will take place in the Villa Crespo neighborhood from September 4 to 13, 2026. This community-focused event features national feature films and shorts, with all participating films including live presentations by directors and cast members. The festival encourages audience participation, allowing viewers to vote for the award winners, and aims to strengthen local identity through accessible cultural programming.
