Argentine filmmakers achieve international recognition
Argentine film productions are gaining international recognition through various festival selections and awards. The documentary ‘Oscar Francia, una historia de pueblo chico’, directed by Javier Mitchell, has been selected for the Paris Lift-Off Film Festival, following previous participations in London festivals earlier this year. The film explores the life of Oscar Francia, a well-known figure in San Francisco, addressing themes of social rejection and community perception.
Additionally, Oscar-winning producer Violeta Kreimer is returning to Argentina to present the short film ‘Dos personas intercambiando saliva’ at the Malba museum in Buenos Aires. The film, which explores an absurd allegory regarding forbidden intimacy, was produced by Kreimer’s company. Kreimer also noted that another production, ‘Los días libres’ by Lucila Mariani, recently received a Jury Mention at the Locarno Film Festival.
