Argentine firefighters honored for K9 rescue mission in Venezuela

The Honorable Concejo Deliberante held a ceremony to honor volunteer firefighters Gastón Velázquez and Osiris López, along with K9 units Oma and Roma, for their rescue efforts in Venezuela. Following earthquakes on June 24, the K9 squadron participated in search and rescue operations that successfully located 48 people under rubble, including five individuals found alive, two of whom were children.

During the event, Councilman Sebastián Schaumann presented a resolution declaring their humanitarian work of interest. The firefighters shared details regarding the duration and challenges of their mission alongside their canine partners.
