Argentine Football Association mansion probe handed to prosecutor

Judge Verónica Straccia in the Economic Criminal Court delegated the investigation of a $20 million mansion in Pilar to prosecutor Claudio Navas Rial. The property, owned by Real Central SRL, is linked to AFA officials including president Claudio "Chiqui" Tapia, treasurer Pablo Toviggino and former AFA board member Luciano Pantano. The investigation will now be driven by the prosecutor, who can propose measures pending judicial approval, and seeks to determine whether the purchase involved illicit front‑men and misuse of AFA resources, such as a corporate credit card tied to the luxury vehicles found on the estate.

The case is moving toward an oral trial, with pending testimonies from Pantano’s mother and son, and a forensic valuation confirming the mansion’s high value and extensive assets, including 54 luxury cars, stables, a helipad and equestrian facilities.
