Argentine football clubs face relegation risk in 2027 averages table

Projections for the 2027 Argentine football relegation system indicate several clubs will begin the season in precarious positions. Central Córdoba, Platense, Banfield, and Atlético Tucumán are among the teams expected to start with low accumulated points in the averages table.

Under the upcoming calculation rules, the 2024 campaign will no longer be counted. Central Córdoba and Platense are projected to start with 68 points, followed by Banfield with 67 and Atlético Tucumán with 65. Newell’s is also identified as a team that must monitor its standing closely from the start of the season.

The relegation system will involve two teams losing their top-flight status: one based on the annual table and one based on the averages table. Newly promoted teams from Primera Nacional will have different calculation methods depending on their tenure in the division, which may impact the overall standings.
