Daniel Osvaldo hospitalized in intensive care for lung complications

Former professional footballer Daniel Osvaldo is in intensive care at the Hospital Municipal de Llavallol in Lomas de Zamora, Argentina, following a severe health emergency. The 40-year-old, who played for clubs including Roma, Juventus, Inter Milan, and Boca Juniors, was admitted after suffering from a severe pleural effusion in his right lung.

Reports indicate that Osvaldo had been feeling unwell for several days before his sister discovered him in deteriorating condition at his home in Banfield. Medical professionals performed an urgent surgical intervention and a biopsy to determine the exact cause of the infection and fluid accumulation. While some reports suggested lung tissue resection, family members have denied that any part of his lungs was removed, stating instead that the infection was cleaned.

Osvaldo, a naturalized Italian citizen who represented the Italian national team during the Euro 2012 campaign, has been open about his struggles with depression and addiction in recent years. He is currently under strict medical observation with a reserved prognosis. His family remains by his side as doctors await further test results.
