Argentine governors participate in 2026 Social Week in Córdoba
Governors Martín Llaryora of Córdoba and Elías Suárez of Santiago del Estero participated in the opening of the 2026 Social Week in Córdoba. The event, organized by the Episcopal Commission for Social Pastoral of the Argentine Episcopal Conference, focused on themes of the common good, social commitment, and the construction of social friendship.
During the panel ‘Politics and the Construction of Social Friendship,’ Llaryora emphasized the necessity of dialogue and a humanist approach to governance, stating that decisions should be made with ‘heart’ rather than solely through data. He called for policies that foster inclusion rather than exclusion to build a more humane Argentina.
Suárez highlighted education as a vital tool for reducing social gaps and creating equal opportunities. He also pointed to institutional consensus-building in Santiago del Estero, citing the provincial Economic and Social Council and various dialogue tables between the government and labor sectors as models for collective progress.
