Argentine health authorities launch vaccination and addiction prevention initiatives

Health authorities in Argentina have implemented two distinct regional initiatives focused on preventative care. In Clorinda, the Ministry of Human Development, in coordination with the Cruz Felipe Arnedo District Hospital and the provincial police, conducted a vaccination drive at the Provincial Penitentiary Unit No. 5. The operation provided 349 doses, including influenza, Hepatitis B, and diphtheria-tetanus vaccines, to 50 police officers and 70 inmates.

Separately, the Nuevo Amanecer Strategic Provincial Plan held training sessions for approximately 200 socio-sanitary agents in the Eastern Programmatic Area. This initiative aims to strengthen community-based prevention and management of problematic consumption and addictions. The training emphasized the role of local agents in identifying health risks within neighborhoods and utilizing digital health tools through the Public Virtual Hospital to improve community outreach and diagnostic accuracy.
