Argentine hospitals expand organ and bone marrow donation initiatives
Health authorities in Argentina are implementing new measures to increase organ and bone marrow donation rates. In Presidencia Roque Sáenz Peña, the Hospital 4 de Junio “Dr. Ramón Carrillo” has launched a bone marrow donor registration program using oral swabs. This method, coordinated with Cucai Chaco and Incucai, offers a painless, 15-minute alternative to traditional blood extraction to help expand the National Registry.
In Jujuy, the Ministry of Health reported successful progress in organ transplantation, noting that the Pablo Soria Hospital recently completed three ablation procedures, including one multi-organ operation. These efforts bring the total number of operations conducted this year to 78 across both public and private sectors, aimed at providing life-saving alternatives for patients with severe congenital or acquired diseases.
