Argentine judge investigates UOM union officials and USEM S.A

Federal Judge Julián Ercolini has ordered an investigation into the assets and financial movements of María Soledad Calle, Abel Furlán, and the company USEM S.A. The probe is part of a larger case involving allegations of fraudulent administration and illicit association within the Unión Obrera Metalúrgica (UOM) union.

Ercolini has lifted banking and tax secrecy for Calle, who purchased an apartment located directly below Cristina Kirchner’s residence at San José 1111. The investigation seeks to reconstruct the financial history of Calle, Furlán, and several other individuals, including Adalberto Braconi and Osvaldo Lobato, covering the period from 2022 to 2025.

Authorities have requested information from ARCA, Anses, Migrations, and the Ministry of Human Capital to track income, economic activities, and assets such as luxury vehicles and boats. A key focus is a service contract between the UOM and USEM S.A., which allowed the company to manage bank accounts for the union's branches in exchange for monthly fees equivalent to 0.5% of total monthly inflows.
