Argentine judicial officials participate in international summits

Argentine judicial officials have participated in distinct international events in Paris and Vatican City.

In Paris, during Argentina Week, Justice Minister Juan Bautista Mahiques led a delegation of judges to engage with investors. The group included Richar Gallego, President of the Federal Chamber of General Roca, and Sergio Fernández of the Federal Administrative Litigation Chamber. The mission aimed to demonstrate legal certainty regarding the Vaca Muerta energy basin, covering both the geographic area of drilling and the fiscal jurisdictions where major oil companies are domiciled.

In Vatican City, a delegation of judges and officials from the Buenos Aires judiciary attended the international summit ‘Judges, Climate Litigation, and Human Rights.’ Organized by the Fray Bartolomé de las Casas Legal Research Institute, the event focused on the impact of the environmental crisis on vulnerable communities. Participants signed the ‘Casina Pio IV Declaration on Access to Climate Justice,’ characterizing the climate emergency as an ‘existential threat’ and a legal issue tied to the realization of human rights.
