Argentine leaders discuss tourism and connectivity at Hotelga Summit

During the Hotelga Summit, regional leaders discussed strategies to bolster Argentina's hospitality and tourism sectors. Jorge Macri, Chief of Government of Buenos Aires, emphasized the city's role as a major hub, noting that international tourism in Buenos Aires rose by 19% in the first half of 2026 compared to the previous year. Macri highlighted the importance of integrating public and private event agendas to drive economic activity.

Raúl Jalil, Governor of Catamarca, stressed the critical need for improved air connectivity to facilitate tourism and economic integration. He noted that current flight frequencies, such as the single daily direct flight between Buenos Aires and Catamarca, are insufficient for the province's potential. Jalil also mentioned a collaborative effort with ten northern provinces to promote the ‘Norte Grande’ brand to attract investment and tourism.
