Argentine mother uses therapeutic cannabis to treat son's autism

Carina Prieto, a representative of the group 'Madres que se Plantan' in Argentina, has shared her experience using therapeutic cannabis to treat her son Juan Cruz's autism. After Juan Cruz was diagnosed with autism following a premature birth, his mother sought alternatives to traditional psychotropic medications due to concerns regarding their effects on a young child.

Following medical supervision from Dr. Sofía Mayorana, Prieto began administering cannabis oil to her son. She reported noticing significant changes in his condition within ten days of starting the treatment, marking a personal struggle that has contributed to legal precedents regarding medicinal cannabis access in the country.
