Argentine municipalities expand security fleets and surveillance

Municipalities in Argentina are expanding their security resources through the acquisition of new vehicles and technology. In Luján, the local government has added two new Volkswagen Amarok patrol units to its fleet. These vehicles are specifically designated for night patrols between 20:00 and 08:00 as part of the ‘Luján Alerta 24’ security plan, which aims to increase preventive presence in public spaces.

In Lanús, the government has acquired 20 armored Jeep vehicles to establish a new Urban Ordering Patrol. This initiative is part of a broader security investment that includes the installation of a digital ring featuring 40 license plate readers and 10 strategic portals, as well as 140 surveillance cameras and 470 neighborhood alarms. The Lanús administration has also integrated training for 120 municipal police cadets and established a security and justice coordination table to combat crime.
