Argentine municipalities implement gender violence prevention and investigations
Municipalities in Argentina are implementing different measures regarding gender-based issues. In Chivilcoy, the local government is launching an itinerant prevention table to bring information and assistance directly to neighborhoods. Led by the Gender Directorate and the Secretariat of Human Rights, the initiative will use a mobile gazebo to provide professional guidance on topics such as gender violence, grooming, and school harassment. The program will visit commercial areas and educational institutions on a biweekly basis.
In Tandil, the municipality has ordered an administrative inquiry against Roberto Martínez Lastra, the General Secretary of the Tandil Municipal Workers Union. The investigation follows a complaint involving alleged sexual and labor harassment. Under Decree No. 3057/2026, signed by Mayor Miguel Lunghi, the city has activated the Victim Assistance Commission to investigate potential violations of provincial law and collective bargaining agreements.
