Argentine Navy vessels arrive in Corrientes for health assistance

The Argentine Navy vessels ARA Ciudad de Zárate and ARA Punta Mogote are arriving at the port of Corrientes to provide medical assistance following severe weather effects caused by the El Niño phenomenon.

According to Port Director Adolfo Escobar Damús, the ships will use the Corrientes capital as a base to deploy aid along the coastline. While their primary mission is sanitary, crews are available for operational tasks, including evacuations and aid for those affected by the weather.

To maintain port operations, authorities are coordinating space to ensure commercial container loading continues alongside the naval presence. The port will provide the vessels with electricity and potable water to allow for efficient operation while docked.
