Argentine opposition deputies travel to Brasilia to repair ties with Brazil
A delegation of at least ten Argentine opposition legislators has traveled to Brasilia to attempt to repair bilateral relations between Argentina and Brazil. The diplomatic mission follows a period of tension caused by insults directed at Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva by Argentine President Javier Milei.
Led by deputies such as Nicolás Massot, Germán Martínez, and Victoria Tolosa Paz, the multi-party group aims to utilize parliamentary diplomacy to stabilize institutional channels. The legislators have met with Brazilian officials, including Foreign Minister Mauro Vieira at the Itamaraty Palace, to emphasize that the strategic relationship between the two nations transcends personal political conflicts.
To maintain the institutional nature of the visit and avoid the use of state funds, the participating legislators agreed to self-finance their travel expenses. The group includes representatives from various political forces, including Unión por la Patria, Encuentro Federal, Coalición Cívica, and Provincias Unidas.
