Argentine players Midón and Gómez qualify for European clay ATP 250 events

After a disappointing Wimbledon where none of the nine Argentine men advanced past the first round, two younger players secured spots in the European clay swing. Lautaro Midón, ranked around No. 213, qualified for the ATP 250 tournament in Bastad, Sweden, after defeating Sweden’s William Rejchtman Vinciguerra and Brazil’s Igor Marcondes in straight sets. Federico Gómez, ranked near No. 209, earned a place in the ATP 250 event in Umag, Croatia, by advancing through that tournament’s qualifying draw.

Both qualifiers are viewed as a boost for Argentina’s traditional strength on clay courts, continuing a recent run of solid performances by Argentine players on the surface.
