Argentine police rescue domestic‑violence victim and seize illegal weapon in separate operations

Police forces in Argentina carried out two distinct operations. In Presidencia Roque Sáenz Peña, Chaco Province, officers rescued a 39‑year‑old woman who had hidden in the bush after a jealous argument turned violent. She was found in shock with minor injuries and was taken to Hospital 4 de Junio; the alleged attacker was arrested on charges of illegal deprivation of liberty, injuries and gender‑based threats, and two vehicles and other items were seized.

In a separate action in Guernica, Buenos Aires Province, police stopped a blue Peugeot 3008 that was subject to an active vehicle‑theft alert. Inside they discovered a FAL rifle with ammunition, additional pistol cartridges and other weapons. The vehicle’s driver, a 34‑year‑old woman, was detained, while investigators continue to search for her 34‑year‑old cousin, a suspect with prior violent‑crime convictions.

Both incidents illustrate ongoing law‑enforcement efforts against domestic violence and illegal firearm possession in Argentina.
