Argentine police seize firearms, marijuana and cocaine in raids across Tucumán and Villa Mercedes

In the city of Tucumán, police from the Banda del Río Salí precinct carried out three raids on homes in the Costanera, Samoré and 11 de Marzo neighborhoods. They seized a .22 caliber revolver with five cartridges, more than 200 grams of marijuana, 10 grams of cocaine, a precision balance, plastic cutting tools, ten mobile phones and nearly one million Argentine pesos in cash. Two people—a man and a woman—were arrested on drug‑related charges.

Separately, in Villa Mercedes, San Luis Province, federal authorities dismantled four drug‑sale and distribution points. Six men were transferred to a provincial penitentiary and two women placed under house arrest. Seized items included enough marijuana to produce 3,321 doses (valued at roughly $16.6 million), cocaine sufficient for 188 doses (about $1.1 million), cannabis seeds, phones, $97,900 in cash, a Keller motorcycle and related documentation. The operations were ordered by federal judges and continue under the oversight of the federal justice system.
