Argentina police seize drugs, weapons and arrest fugitives in a series of operations

Police forces in several Argentine provinces carried out coordinated raids that resulted in massive seizures and arrests. In Chaco, 324 security operations over a weekend led to the detention of 78 people, the confiscation of 613 motorcycles (including four with theft orders), 11 firearms, 16 knives and the issuance of 360 traffic citations. In Formosa, agents from the Dirección General de Drogas Peligrosas raided two homes, detaining a suspect and seizing cocaine, marijuana, more than 586,000 pesos and equipment used for drug processing. The Federal Police’s Division of Crimes of Counterfeiting in Pergamino intercepted thousands of boxes of illegal medical supplies, including unapproved and expired medicines, and removed them from circulation. In Goya, Corrientes, a federal raid dismantled a “narco kiosk,” seizing assorted narcotics, cash and plastic tools used for drug fractioning. In Santa Fe, a joint operation captured Andrés Raúl Acosta, one of the province’s ten most‑wanted fugitives linked to organized crime and armed attacks, after locating him in a nightclub. The combined actions reflect an intensified crackdown on illicit drug trade, illegal weapon possession and organized criminal activity across Argentina.
