Argentine police seize weapons and drugs in Rosario and Avellaneda raids
Federal police carried out simultaneous raids in the Ludueña Norte neighbourhood of Rosario, Argentina, detaining six people. The operation targeted the so‑called “Playón” gang involved in a violent dispute over drug‑selling points. Authorities seized firearms, ammunition and packaged narcotics ready for sale, and collected documents and devices to investigate the gangs’ financing.
In the neighbouring province of Buenos Aires, police conducted 18 raids in Avellaneda’s Cooperación and Belgrano districts. The searches yielded about 60 g of cocaine, 16 g of marijuana, precision scales, mobile phones and other evidence. Two suspects were arrested, and a female officer from the Policía de Investigaciones (PDI) was detained on suspicion of leaking operational information.
