Argentine political alliances face internal and inter-party tensions

Political tensions are rising within Argentina's ruling coalition and its primary allies. In La Pampa, a meeting organized by the Fundación Pensar aims to address internal divisions within the PRO party. Fernando de Andreis, a close associate of former President Mauricio Macri, is expected to attend a training session in Santa Rosa on September 7. This gathering seeks to bring together opposing factions, including those led by Martín Ardohain and Carlos Javier Mac Allister, as well as the sector headed by Martín Maquieyra.

Simultaneously, friction is emerging between the La Libertad Avanza party and the PRO. While Mauricio Macri and Karina Milei attempt to negotiate long-term political agreements, recent public appearances suggest underlying competition. Economic Minister Luis Caputo was recently seen with La Libertad Avanza leader Pilar Ramírez, a move interpreted by some as a political gesture amidst a challenging economic climate marked by recession and inflation.
