Argentine provinces coordinate response to 2027 National Budget
Provincial authorities and national legislators in Argentina are coordinating efforts to address the 2027 National Budget project. Economic ministers from Formosa, Buenos Aires, La Rioja, La Pampa, Santiago del Estero, and Tierra del Fuego met with members of the Unión por la Patria and Popular blocs to discuss potential fiscal adjustments and resource distribution.
Formosa's Economy Minister, Jorge Ibáñez, criticized the budget for allegedly neglecting provincial needs, noting that the per capita national expenditure in Buenos Aires is significantly higher than in Formosa. He highlighted that proposed investments for Formosa represent less than 1% of the national total, which may be insufficient to complete critical infrastructure projects like the National Route 11 highway.
In a separate regional initiative, officials from Entre Ríos and Santa Fe, alongside Sedronar, met in Paraná to develop joint strategies for preventing and managing problematic substance consumption and mental health issues through inter-institutional cooperation.
