Argentine provinces implement new security measures

Regional governments in Argentina are implementing new security measures to enhance public safety. In Jujuy, the provincial government has launched Rapid Action Unit No. 2 in the Cristo Rey neighborhood of Fraile Pintado. This new unit, which operates under the Citizen Security Management Center, aims to improve response times and complement existing services in the Belgrano neighborhood. The initiative involved cooperation between the province and the municipality, which provided a building and a motorcycle for operations.

In San Luis, the government has expanded its citizen alarm system in the Altos del Oeste neighborhood of Villa Mercedes. With the addition of six new devices, the city now has 282 active alarms, contributing to a provincial total of 752. The system utilizes a mobile application that allows users to send emergency signals directly to 911, providing location data and triggering local sirens. Authorities aim to complete coverage across all neighborhoods in Villa Mercedes by the end of the year or the first quarter of next year.
