Argentine provinces implement public sector salary increases
Public sector employees in the provinces of Formosa and Buenos Aires are set to receive salary increases as part of regional wage agreements.
In Formosa, the Ministry of Economy, Finance and Treasury announced that October salary payments will include a 5% increase, representing the third installment of a previously announced 15% hike. Additionally, a guaranteed minimum net salary of $1,200,000 has been established, excluding family allowances or other supplements. Payments for retirees and pensioners will begin on October 29, followed by active personnel on October 30 and 31.
In Buenos Aires province, police personnel will receive a 6% salary increase distributed in two stages: 3% in October and 3% in November. This adjustment aligns with broader wage agreements reached by Governor Axel Kicillof's administration with state workers and teachers. The new pay scales vary by rank, with salaries for roles such as Police Officer and Commissioner reflecting the updated figures.
