Argentine provinces launch bids for school infrastructure projects

Provincial governments in Argentina have initiated bidding processes for significant educational infrastructure projects in Entre Ríos and Chubut.

In Entre Ríos, the government launched a public tender for the comprehensive renovation of the José María Texier No. 1 School in San Salvador. With an official budget of 781 million pesos, the project covers 1,496 square meters and is expected to take 270 days. The works aim to improve safety and habitability for over 500 students, including those attending the Miguel P. Malarín night school. Six firms submitted bids for the project, which includes roof renewals, new metallic structures, drainage systems, and interior painting.

In Chubut, the provincial government has called for tenders to complete the Escuela No. 7717 in the Stella Maris neighborhood of Comodoro Rivadavia. The project, which requires an investment exceeding 4.4 billion pesos, seeks to resolve a long-standing issue as the school has been stalled since September 2023. Once finished, the 2,040-square-meter facility will provide a permanent home for more than 250 students, featuring classrooms, a science laboratory, a library, and various service areas.
