Argentina social security benefits and national resource updates

Argentina's National Social Security Administration (ANSES) has announced the payment schedule and updated benefit amounts for August 2026. Following June inflation data from INDEC, social benefits will see a 1.89% increase. The minimum retirement pension will rise to $419,775.93, and low-income beneficiaries will continue to receive an extraordinary bonus of $70,000, bringing their total income to $489,775.93. Other benefits, such as the Universal Pension for the Elderly (PUAM) and Non-Contributory Pensions (PNC), have also been adjusted accordingly.

Additionally, the Subsecretaría de Seguridad Social has officialized a new index to calculate future retirement benefits. This measure, effective for those retiring from September 1, 2026, aims to update historical salaries used in the calculation process. This change does not affect the monthly mobility of current retirees.

On a macroeconomic level, a report from the Congressional Budget Office (OPC) indicates that national resources sent to provinces decreased by 1% in constant values during the first seven months of 2026. This decline is attributed to a 3% drop in Federal Co-participation and a 7% decrease in net VAT, despite increases in fuel tax collection and income tax.
